A men dressed as death talks to a policeman, as people took to the streets in protests for the government budgets cuts, as Romania is hit by the economic crisis. Around 40,000 people were expected to take part in a protest against the planned 25-percent cut in their wages, part of an austerity drive that also includes a 25-percent slash in civil servants' wages. The IMF, the European Union and the World Bank last year concluded a 20-billion-euro bailout deal with Romania in exchange for measures to slash public spending. The average monthly pension is currently around 190 euros and the monthly wage around 350 euros.
